Russ Nutting
Driver
Class of 2011

Maine's Russ Nutting started racing in 1957, and before taking his final laps as a driver, he'd captured an estimated 225 feature victories wheeling everything from NESMRA super modifieds to NASCAR late models at dirt and asphalt speedways throughout New England and Canada.

A many-time track champion, he recorded multiple titles at Maine's Arundel & Oxford Plains Speedways, and New Hampshire's Hudson Speedway. A lifelong machinist and fiercely independent racer, he was known for consistently constructing and campaigning cutting-edge equipment, a trait that continued for his over 5-decades of involvement in the sport. After concluding his driving career, Nutting remained close to the sport as a crew member for several NASCAR Winston Cup teams, and has served as a Technical Inspector at various speedways in Maine and New Hampshire. He was inducted into the Maine Motorsports Hall of Fame in 2008.
