Longtime New England Antique Racers' member Richard “Dick” Harlow passed-away following a long illness on May 8, 2014.
Dick was the father of NEAR Secretary Mare Harlow.
A fixture within the club for many years, Dick’s participation on the vintage racing trail was unique in the fact that the 5-window modified coupe he campaigned with NEAR was the very-same car he had raced competitively at Connecticut’s Waterford Speedbowl and other New England tracks decades-earlier.
Following a complete restoration of his original ride, he enjoyed piloting it for many seasons at NEAR events throughout the Northeast.
The New England Antique Racers offer their sincere condolences to the entire Harlow family on this sad occasion.
There will be no calling hours. Burial will be a private graveside service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to The Church of the Epiphany Episcopal Church, 196 Main Street, P.O. Box 337, Durham, CT 06422.
