(MERIDEN, CONNECTICUT) New England Antique Racers member Peter Jacobs, 75, of Meriden, died Monday, January 25, 2016, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Occupation: He had been employed by Logan Steel and Waltsco until his retirement. Peter also worked on the Masonic Farm for many years.

Hobbies: Peter enjoyed car racing and building cars. He liked to make his own maple syrup and take trips to the casino and the Durham Fair.

Organizations: He was a member of the N.E.A.R. Club.

Peter W. Jacobs, 75, of Meriden, died Monday, January 25, 2016, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Karen (Mihalisin) Jacobs.

He was born in Meriden, January 31, 1940, and had been employed by Logan Steel and Waltsco until his retirement. Peter also worked on the Masonic Farm for many years. He had a mind that could build anything; if you could imagine it he could build it. Peter enjoyed car racing and building cars. He liked to make his own maple syrup and take trips to the casino and the Durham Fair. He was a member of the N.E.A.R. Club.

In addition to his wife Karen, he is survived by his children, Beth Darling and her husband Scott, and Joseph Jacobs and his wife Colleen; his grandchildren, Kailey Darling, Joshua Jacobs and Ellie Jacobs; his sisters, Margaret “Peg” Chowaniec and Grace “Ginger” Magyar; and many nieces and nephews.

His family will receive relatives and friends in The Yalesville Funeral Home, 386 Main St., in the Yalesville section of Wallingford, on Saturday, January 30, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment will be private.
