It's Show Time - 2014 April 23, 2014 |
With the promised approach of spring weather and the end of one of the toughest winters in recent memory our thoughts are now turning to what are we going to do this year.
New England Antique Racers will be starting off with the Summer Knights show at the Berlin Fairgrounds in Berlin Ct. Last year we had ten (10) cars here and the weather was perfect. I hope we can match or exceed our past success this year and add to a great cause. A young lady by the name of Daniela Ciriello is 21 months old and has a medical condition which requires blood transfusions every two weeks. The Summer Knights has made their primary charity goal to help her family this year. So I ask that if you have the time and the desire to help please come down and show how great an organization NEAR is with your support. Bring your car, bring your street car, Show up in NEAR wear help support this cause. The NEAR HOF will be there this year and it would be good to have a few folks there to relieve Ric and RA so they can also see the show. For more show information about the show WWW.Summerknights.net or (860) 670-8532.
Jim Torok will also be there to perform tech inspections for the 2014 season. Come and get your car approved now and have more running time at the shows without waiting in line.
Our first running show will be at:
Monadnock Speedway on Route 10 in Winchester NH on May 17 with a sign in time starting at 2pm; Jim and I will be there to perform tech inspections.
Again this year we have divided up the area with Lloyd Hutchins and Scott Haskell running the northern shows (VT NH ME) and Jim Torok overseeing the running shows south (CT MA RI).
Anyone with ideas for a show please email Bill Henry at beachwalk1028@yahoo.com or call (203) 378-2913 with possible dates and contact information.
Remember, to get credit for the show, you must sign in and have a valid NEAR membership for calendar year 2014. For those who have forgotten to renew or lost the form we sent in the newsletter we will take your application or renewal payment before we perform the inspection cash or check made out to NEAR and your card will be mailed to you.
