The  Next Three Weeks with
New England Antique Racers
May 24th to June 8th
May 22, 2014

This weekend is Memorial Day weekend. We, as an organization, are not active at any track or "still" show. It is a time for reflecting on those who have served and are now gone. It is a family time to remember friends and loved ones. The schedule was left blank this year so families can spend time together.

Norwood 2014
The annual Norwood Reunion will take place on Sunday, June 1, 2014, at Bezema Motors located on Route 1 in Norwood, MA.

This is a "still" show that draws cars from the area that ran at the speedways in eastern MA. It is a great show to see many of the Hall of Fame drivers who stop by and chat and who, if asked, will sign an autograph. The Bezema Family dealership opens their shop area so that movies can be shown and there are numerous displays of pictures and other items of memorabilia for purchase. The NEAR Mobile Hall of Fame Museum will be present with a full display and many club identity items available. Also included in this event is a Classic and Hot Rod paddock so if your car is still on blocks or the trailer is not ready but your street car is, take the ride. No admission charge and always a good time.

White Mountain located on Route 2 in North Woodstock, NH, is a "running" show with a 2pm sign in time. This show is scheduled for Saturday, June 7, 2014. It is the companion show for the next show listed to make it a weekend event with reduced long distance hauling. This is one of the locations where non-speed event cars can be displayed and given parade laps before the NEAR feature. Thank you Lloyd Hutchins for working with the track to make this possible.

Twin State (Claremont), Thrasher Road, Claremont, NH, is also a "running" show; Sunday June 8, 2014, sign in time is 9am.  It also affords the opportunity to display and perform parade laps prior to the NEAR feature.

If you can make one or both shows take the time to enjoy the north country; as the group from the New Hampshire and Vermont keep telling me.

For those from Western Connecticut who have to work Saturday or Saturday night, there is a local event at Danbury Airport called Spectacular Sunday. It will be held across the street from the Danbury Mall which was the site of the Danbury racearena. The show runs from 8am to 4pm  and offers custom motorcycles, cars, tractor trailer trucks, television star appearances and food. The address is 81 Kenosia Ave., Danbury, CT, Exit 3 off I 84 and follow the signs.
